Stryn Summer Ski Resort is open from the end of May/beginning of June until the end of July/mid August depending on the amount of snow accumulated through the winter as well as the temperature during the summer.  Normally, we get 8-12 meter of snow.

Snowboard Summer Camp 2011?

The popular annual Snowboard Camp will be held, for the 23st time, in June'11?? at the Stryn Summer Ski Center.  Snowboarders of various age and skill level from all over Europe gather in the midst of the magnificient Norwegian fjords for a few days to practice snowboarding under the professional supervision of some of the top riders of Norway.  Our slogan, “No one too experienced, no one too inexperienced” reflects the unique spirit our snowboard camp, that it is carefully tailored to suit the need of snowboarders from a wide spectrum of background and skill levels.  Our participants range from beginners who are just starting out to discover the fun of the exhilirating sport, to recreational snowboarders who aim to improve their skill level, to high-ranked national team members who want to push themselves to the limit.  The youngest participant is around ten years of age and the oldest in his fifties - as you can see, the Snowboard camp is fun for all and we continue to see returning participants coming back for more each year.

 

Snowboard Park:

Lots of jumps, fun boxes, some rails and big jumps.

Our Instructors:

Our instructor team comprises some of the top ranked Norwegian snowboarders  and some of them have been with us for  years, as a result, they have accumulated a lot of valuable and practical experience in coaching.  Our national elite team members and foreign professionals are very eager to share their wealth of knowledge with camp members and will include a variety of drills in their courses such as jumping, fun box and half-pipe, if there is sufficient snow.

Stryn Summerskiresort is renowned for its fabulous snow conditions - the best snowboard conditions one can ever dream of.
 

Weather:  

The mid-summer nights in Norway are bright, warm and cheery and our campers can take advantage of the pleasant weather condition by participating in various activities in the evening such as beach volley ball, skateboarding, etc. while making new friends from all over the world.  You can participate in these organized group activities with your fellow campers if you have energy to spare after a full day on the slope, or you can choose simply to relax and unwind at the on-site pub or around the grill with a drink.  In addition, there is a nice big skate park available for those who are interested in  some skateboarding fun.

 

Camp Fee: 

Each Camp………………………NOK 3.300.- per person
(Mon. through Fri., arrival Sunday evening).  

 

 The camp fee includes:  

  • 5 days intensive group instruction: participants will be divided based on experience level. 

  • 5-days lift pass

- The camp fee does NOT include:

  • Lodging

  • Food   

  • Bus transport to the mountain.

Accommodation/Camp Site:

  • Folven Camping is the camping ground closest to the Stryn Skisenter (where the ski lifts are located).

  • You can either rent a bed in one of the modern camping huts or bring your own tent.

Rate:

  • Camping Huts (each sleeping 4-8 persons depending on the hut size):
    NOK. 270.- per night per bed. 5 nights sunnday to friday Nok. 1.350.-

  • Bed at the Motel at Hjelle, 2 bed rooms with bathroom. Nok 390.- a night inclusive breakfast. Standard price is Nok 590.- a night.

Meals:

  • Breakfast & Lunch: You prepare your own breakfast and lunch.  Food can be purchased from the food store conveniently located across the street of Folven Camping.

  • Dinner: Fixed price dinner menu is available daily at the camp restaurant for NOK 95.- to NOK 150.-.  A la carte is served until 9 p.m.

  • There are a few restaurants minutes away by car down the street for the adventurous campers who wish to explore other culinary options during their stay. 

In Conclusion…

The Summer Snowboard camp is for riders of ALL ages and levels - Our participants range from beginners to the most experienced and our number one goal is for you to learn snowboarding and have fun at the same time.  Instructions are provided at all skill levels: Campers are divided into smaller groups and have two training sessions per day.  Moreover, we are especially experienced in fun box, freestyle and  jumping.

In addition, given the snow conditions in mid summer, our course in board preparation is also quite popular.

About Hecox AS -  Snowboard Norge  (Snowboard Norway)

Hecox AS - Snowboard Norge  is the most experienced snowboard camp organizer in Norway.  Summer 2009 marks the 21th consecutive year that we hoist our colours on the glacier near Stryn.

Our philosophy: No one is too old or too young to participate in our camps, however, we do recommend adult accompaniment for participants under 14 years of age.  We are glad to see that over the past few years, the average age of our campers is on the rise with more and more participants in their twenties and thirties.  It shows that people of all ages are discovering snowboarding, a fun and exhilarating sport that makes one feel young and alive regardless of age.
